What Women Want WednesdayPeople ask me all the time, why sports? My answer: My love for the game and being able to watch hot men play it! Pretty simple: I am a sports junkie with a bonus! So I came up with the idea to showcase once a week, what women really love about sports. Therefore, I am inviting you to join me on Wednesdays, 3-5 PM on Sports Dealers. We are presenting the first show with only women! Sorry guys, nothing against you, but it's time to see what women really want in sports. Every week we feature what women see and want, on the other side of the field! Over the past two weeks we have combined the American League and National League's sexiest ball players down to 39! Tomorrow we will narrow it down to the top 12 for the Sports Dealers first annual "2010 fantasy calendar". Check out our nominations: NL: Dan Uggla Jeff Francoeur Shane Victorino Ivan Rodriguez Jason Marquis Geovany Soto Ryan Theriot Jonny Gomes Carlos Gomez Garrett Jones Matt Holliday Skip Schumaker Edwin Jackson Troy Tulowitzki Matt Kemp Manny Ramirez AL: Demaso Marte Boone Logan Ramiro Pena Jacoby Ellsbury James Shields Vernon Wells Jose Bautista Adam Jones Nick Markakis J.J. We had a great 1st week on the Buckeye Show, with the new format of all things Ohio Sports! On tap for this week, we will break down the disappointing loss from the tournament by OSU, we will talk about the home return of Big Z, the Crew opened on Saturday with a great win and round things off with some surprises for Free For All Friday! Join us every weekday LIVE from Noon till 1!
Gold is overrated and Tiger is bannedWith the Winter Olympics at a close, I'm going to miss waking up at 2am to the sounds of ice skates or crunching snow on my television. Despite the USA hockey team losing to Canada, we have all agreed that curling is the new sport of choice for the Sports Dealers. We are going to start our own curling team! So watch out! In case you have been living under a rock. . . The USA men's hockey team was defeated, in OT, to "the inventors of hockey", Canada! What a shock! Now don't get me wrong, I was absolutely rooting for the USA team and truly wanted them to destroy Canada, but this was basically a JV vs. varsity game. Most NHL hockey players are not from our homeland, so therefore they are all playing for their own countries, IE. CANADA! So the USA team is left with very few pros. and college players? Impressively, the USA team beat Canada once and put up a hell of a fight for the gold. So hats off to the USA team! Congrats on silver! (Gold is overrated anyways) I think I can go on and on with all the exciting news the Olympics brought us, so congratulations to all of the USA athletes! and Thank you for representing our country in such a great fashion. It is offical. Tiger Woods has been banned from Sports Dealers! Unless.. Unless.. Unless: He publicly reads verbatim and apologizes to the world (instead of just his wife), he has been seen or is physically back on the green, dropped from a sponsor, or HE IS THE FATHER. Otherwise we are done talking about Tiger on the show. March Madness is beginning and Nascar Fantasy is only getting hotter. Stay tuned to the show, M-F from 3-5 PM, for all your latest sports news and gossip. Give us a call and tell us your thoughts! 614-333-5300! The deadline for the players association and NFL owners is growing ever closer and the "word on the street" is not good. The uncapped could quite possibly be the end of the golden age of the NFL. At the absolute highest point of the NFL's popularity, who get't the biggest pile of money looms over the games future.
Small market teams like Jacksonville and Green Bay have already expressed fear for their future and the other owners are listening. Both teams are saying that their profits have decreased by more than 43% and saying salaries are the main reason. Players are saying that the NFL has reported the highest ratings, and growth in the leagues history's. So to take a 17% pay decrease doesn't make sense to them. If you were a player, wouldn't you. All parties here can learn from what the NHL went through a few years ago and find a way to work this out. One thing the players can give into is the rookie saleries being capped. Paying rookies that have not proven anything at the highest level getting paid the highest amounts in money leaves the owners taking all the risk. And in the end game, makes teams like GB and Jax have to release proven players, to sign rookies, and quality suffers. We will get into more of this on the air at . 2-3pm. Toon in baby, it's balls out! Snowy Days and HolidaysIs the snow ever going to go away? We do apologize for not being live for a few days in the last couple weeks. Columbus has been taken over with horrible weather. Hopefully this 3rd storm we got today will be the end, and can have some sunshine headed our way! Happy Valentines day to everyone! Great weekend for valentines day and the sports world! The Winter Olympics have officially started, Nascar season has finally arrived, and the NBA all star game made me feel like I was watching the Pro Bowl again. This week I will be giving the gang our official points results for Nascar Fantasy. This weekend Nascar broke in their 2010 season @ Daytona on Sunday. What an amazing and long race! The beginning was exactly what Nascar haters describe Nascar as. . . BORING! With 2 Red flags and a handful of cautions, I was expecting for a boring and disappointing finish. After 6 hours of racing and waiting around for the track to be repaired, Jamie McMurray makes for a win and an on your toes, exciting finish. Of course the Daytona 500 wouldn't be the "grand daddy" of them all, without an edge of your seat ending! After 4 long years the Winter Olympics have begun in Vancouver, Canada. All week we will be talking about the weekly events and keep you updated on all of the USA medals! While rooting on our USA team! Football season is officially over. Now we can finally get serious about basketball. Not very impressed with the NBA All Star game Sunday. Don't get me wrong, it was very enjoyable watching all the big named guys show off their moves, but that was more like a Harlem Globe Trotter's game. No Fouls, No hustling, No emotions, Not a real game! Much like the Pro Bowl, it was just a bunch of all stars showing off for fans, making MORE cash! Now that the All Star break is over, its time to get serious and focus on the Finals. . . .. . . . Cleveland! Pretty exciting week for Sports Dealers. I welcome you to join us Mon.-Fri. 3-5 pm Tell us what you think. . 614-333-5300 "This is the way I see it, its the way its done"- AW
Another Week
Well this weekend we had some great college basketball action and now it is Sunday and it is Super Bowl time! I predicted the automated Madden score 35-31 Saints take the championship. Well at least I hope so for a city who has been through so much with Hurricane Katrina and the horror all the families had to go through in that city. Go Saints! Moving on to next week, we should have two special guest on the show. We will have Vince Papale Tuesday, he was the 1976 Eagles walk on and the oldest non kicker rookie in NFL history. It inspired the movie Invincible with Mark Wahlberg, where a teacher and bartender of a place called Max's decides to try out for the Eagles under coach Dick Vermail and makes the team. The other guest lined up for this week will be Paul Keels, the voice of the Ohio State Buckeyes! So great shows lined up for next week, do not forget to check us out on ustream.tv Monday through Friday, 10am to Noon! Well I am going to go enjoy the Super Bowl, see you this week!
Free for All Fridays!!!!
Well, It's gonna be one of those "free for all fridays" again. When, every single show turns on it's ear and things happen that certainly wouldn't happen any other time. It's a mish-mashup of all the show's throughout the day. Why does it matter so to speak, it doesn't. But it sure as hell is good radio, fun to do, fun to listen to, and hell, if you always have a chance to share your opinion by calling 614.333.5300.
Today at the end of the "Highlight Reel" and " the Buckeye Show" Joe McCarthy, will be singing his "favorite" team's fight song. Brandon from the Highlight Reel and Joe from the Buckeye Show made a bet based on the outcome of the OSU/WVU basketball game last saturday, you can guess how it turned out. So today Joe is gonna be singing the WVU fight song and it should be great. CBJ Raquet is winding down in it's current format, and we wish nothing but the best for one of the nicest guys I've met at ScoreonAir.com, Dan Colley. He graduates very soon, and we wish him nothing but the best. Check out his last friday show, Today. NFL Chalk Talk is gonna be as loose as possible today. More SB 44 talk, blah, and Pro Bowl being a load of crap.... Vick in Buffalo?? Didnt we already hear this story???? Tim Tebow invades Pro Talk, and who are the best RB prospects in the draft? Our Draft Guru, Josh Powers himself will give us the 411. Tune in for the first half of ScoreonAir.com's day. 10am-3pm, or just 2-3 if your picky. LISTEN UP! ATTENTION AMERICA!
Hello people of America and welcome back to another edition of the Highlight Reel blog. This weekend was one my best predicted weekends in sports in a long time! Saint win and the Colts win making this Super Bowl one of the best match ups in years. Two great quarterbacks will square off to prove who is the champion of the NFL. We will get into this in great detail in weeks to come.
I would like to thank everybody who has been apart of this show and the listeners for making this show number one on scoreonair.com. Tune in all this week for great sports action and we might just throw a little humor in there as well. The one thing I look forward to is watching Joe from the Buckeye Show singing the Mountaineer fight song. Hail West Virginia! hahaha. Brandon scoreonair.com |
